• Enjoy traditional Sicilian cannoli from this family run store that has been in business since the 1950’s.
• Discover local life in Footscray and how local women have been instrumental to creating positive changes within this community
• $1 AUD from every tour will be donated to help support the Footscray Community Arts Centre

Food Tour in Footscray, Melbourne

Footscray has just been named the 13th coolest suburb in the world, join us on this multicultural food tour to find out why. You will be able to sample traditional Ethiopian food, Vietnamese bahn mi and sweet Sicilian treats. As well as the tasty food on offer you will visit amazing street art, the community arts centre and hear incredible stories from the locals who live here.

Full Itinerary

• Discover why they say West is Best as we depart the city via train for the short trip across to the vibrant suburb of Footscray. This neighbourhood is a melting pot of cultures and we’ll take our taste buds on a journey as we sample some of the best cuisines on offer.
• We will visit some incredible street and learn Footscray’s interesting history while hearing about the women and female leaders who have helped shaped this suburb to what it is today.
• As the hunger sets in, we sit down to enjoy an authentic Ethiopian tasting plate and chat with the female entrepreneur behind the restaurant which is a firm favourite among locals.
• En route you will also enjoy some delicious Vietnamese bahn mi before heading to a family run Sicilian bakery. As we pick up some freshly-filled cannoli’s you will hear the store owner’s talk about their history and the overwhelming pride they have for their suburb.
• Hear about how the AFLW continues to grow in popularity and about the amazing work the women are doing at the Footscray Community Arts Centre.
